February 12, 2024 – Based on EpiCenter emergency department (ED) visit data, the Cuyahoga County Board of Health has seen an increase in the number of patients presenting to EDs for suspected drug overdose. Alerts occurred February 10th (9pm-12am) AND February 11th (11pm-12am) totaling to 29 patients seen in our EDs for drug-related injuries, compared to an average of approximately 10 daily.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has not seen an increase in overdose deaths during this period.
