on-site services

Every Thursday from 2-6pm we’re open to the public for our weekly walk-in service hours at our office. When the weather is nice, we’re outside in the lot behind our office. During the winter, we’re inside so folks can warm up and get a break from the elements.

Our on-site services include:

  • Freshly made hot meals
  • Clothing, shoes, hygiene products
  • Syringe exchange & disposal
  • Naloxone (commonly referred to as Narcan)
  • Overdose response training
  • Safer use education
  • HIV & Hepatitis C Testing
  • Linkages to care

We focus on reducing barriers to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, reducing overdoses and connecting individuals to the care they need without judgement or stigma. All of our services and supplies are completely free and confidential, no insurance or identification required. We can serve you regardless of where you’re from, everyone is welcome!

Linkages to Care

This is a term used when we are referring you to a service or support we don’t provide. So, if you need mental health care, medication assisted treatment, housing support or any basic needs, we can help find exactly what you need and walk through the next steps together.

Syringe Service ID

When you get supplies from us, we’ll give you a card that we call an “SSP ID” or “Syringe Service Program Identification”. This is a simple way to keep track of the supplies we give while maintaining your privacy, keeping you completely anonymous.

On-site Services FAQs

Drop-In day is our weekly walk-in service time where anyone can stop by for support, supplies, and services in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.

Everyone! People who use substances, people in recovery, loved ones of someone who uses substances, or if you work in the field and want to have supplies on hand. You do not have to live in the area to receive services.

Every Thursday from 2-6 pm

At our office at 11002 Detroit Ave. in Cleveland. During warmer months, we’re typically outside in the lot behind the building. In colder weather, we move indoors so folks can warm up and take a break from the elements.

Nope! This is a walk-in service, so you can come by anytime during the hours.

We offer a variety of free, on-site services, including:

  • Freshly made hot meals
  • Clothing, shoes, and hygiene products
  • Syringe exchange and safe disposal
  • Naloxone (Narcan)
  • Overdose response training
  • First aid supplies
  • Safer use education
  • HIV and Hepatitis C testing
  • Take home HIV tests
  • Linkages to care (referrals for additional services)

Hang onto them until you get checked in and when you are called back to the exchange room the staff will show you where to put them. Always double check your bins are secure and sealed when transporting.

That’s fine with us! You can always check our instagram @thrive_4change to see what the meal of the day is going to be. We also have it written on a whiteboard that you’ll see in our window.

No. All services are free, confidential, and do not require insurance or government identification cards. When you come for the first time we create an anonymous ID called an “SSP ID” which you’ll use when getting supplies at any of our locations.

When you receive supplies, we’ll give you a Syringe Service Program (SSP) ID card.

You create your own ID using two letters and four numbers (example: TC1234)

It helps us track the supplies we give away without using your name and keeps your participation completely anonymous.

The card states that participants are protected under Ohio law (ORC 3707.57) for syringe services.

However:

It does not protect you from charges related to drugs or other paraphernalia.

If you are arrested for carrying syringes, document what happened and let us know.

This means we help connect you to services we don’t provide on-site, such as:

  • Mental health care
  • Medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
  • Treatment & recovery
  • Pet support resources
  • Housing support
  • Other basic needs

We can help you find resources and walk through next steps with you.

Street parking is free and available along Detroit Ave. We do have a handicap parking space directly in front of our door.

Our entrance is a flat, newly paved sidewalk. The only “step” is the curb. We have an entrance capable of fitting a wheelchair, and a very slight downward slope on the inside of our building.
