Frequently Asked Questions

1. After exploring what services may exist in your area,  click: submit an application.
2. Within 5 business days, your application will be reviewed and you will receive notice.
3. If your application has been approved you will receive a link to the ordering form which you will need to complete for all future orders.
4. If your application is not approved, we will work with you to explore the resources that exist in your area. If barriers persist, your application may be approved at a later time and we may be able to send you a one time package.
5. You may order once every 30 days and you will be eligible to request up to 300 syringes and 3 pipes. You need to submit an order when you need supplies; there is not a way for you to set up an automatic order.

• Up to 300 syringes ranging from 27 gauge to 31 gauge
• Up to a total of 3 pipes; we offer bubbles and straight stem pipes
• Testing Strips: fentanyl and xylazine (limited)
• Naloxone: 4mg nasal sprays and injectable naloxone
• Materials for safe injection; alcohol, cookers, tie offs, cottons
• Limited wound care supplies

People who inject and smoke drugs without access to new syringes and safer smoking supplies in Ohio. We cannot send materials outside of the state.

The program will provide critical supplies to 25 people per month. Thrive for Change will be prioritizing people with the greatest needs and highest risk factors; due to limited supplies, not every application may be accepted.

The application is not used to determine who “deserves” access to materials but rather to understand your needs, what services we can link you to and to keep ourselves organized. Thrive for Change believes everyone deserves access to the materials they need and we work to meet the needs of as many people as possible with our limited resources.

If you don’t have transportation or face another barrier, but live near an existing syringe exchange program, please let us know and we will work to connect you with the program closest to you.

We use recycled boxes to ship materials to save costs and wrap them in plain brown paper for shipping. It will not say what is inside. We are working on a more discreet return address, but as of right now it will say “Thrive for Change” and have our office as the return address.

If you do not have a safe place to receive a package, let us know and we will try to find a solution.

If you have people in your life who would need supplies, please encourage them to fill out their own application. If they lack a stable address and/or means of communication, they can use yours, just please let us know in the “Is there anything else you want us to know about you, your history, or situation? ” text box on the application.

Depending where you are located and what services you are seeking, we may be able to direct you to services in your area. Please reach out to [email protected]. We prioritize needs related to harm reduction and substance use. 

We recommend people explore NEXT Distro’s public online Resource Library for information related to using drugs, medication assisted treatment, at-home tapering, safe IV injection techniques, and more. Our team will do its best to answer any questions you might include on your order.

You can order supplies every 30 days. Outside of holidays and other extenuating circumstances, orders are shipped out every Monday and should arrive between 5-7 business days.
